MUMBAI : With the rise in consumption of content we can see some great projects being made on the OTT platform in terms of movies and series. No doubt the fans always look for new shows to unwind and entertain themselves. The month of August is filled with some exciting series, and today let us have a look at the series premiering this month.

Guns and Gulaabs

Created by Raj and DK, Guns and Gulabs is one of the most awaited shows of August, starring Rajkumar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, and Adarsh Gourav. It will be released on Netflix  on 18th August, 2023. It is a story revolving around a small town and a gangster family living there. It is a crime thriller drama with some hints of witty humor of small town characters.

Taali

Starring Sushmita Sen, Taali is another big release of August. The series focuses on giving the third gender of India a much needed voice. It is a story based on the life of a transgender, social activist named Gauri Sawant. It shows the struggle she had to bear with the journey of her transformation. The series will be released on Jio Cinema on 15th August, 2023

Commando

Directed and created by Vipul Amrutal Shah, starring Prem in and as Commando, the infamous action thriller show is all set to release on 11th August, on Disney+ Hotstar. The series is awaited with audiences having high hopes of action, thriller and drama from it.

Made in Heaven 2

Starring Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh, Mona Singh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora and Trinetra, created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, the Amazon Prime show is back with its season 2. The audience was waiting for season 2 to come and now finally it is here.  Season 2 will be released on 10th August on Amazon Prime.

The Jengabru Case

Starring actors like Faria Abdullah, Nasser, Makarand Deshpande, Sudev Nair, Deipak Sampat and Hitesh Dave, it is written by Mayank Tewari. The story revolves around Priya Das, a London based financial analyst, whose father disappears mysteriously and she sets out in search of him. In the process, it leads to a connection between nature and mankind. The show attempts to bring out the issue of nature’s negligence by humans. The series will be streaming from 9th August on Sony Liv.

The Kashmir Files Unreported

Directed by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotrti, Kashmir Files unreported is a documentary series which will be showing the lesser known aspects of the issue of Kashmiri Hindus and their exodus from Kashmir. It will be tapping on the lives of people who got impacted with this regional war of religion. The series will be released on 11th August, 2023 and will be streaming on Zee5.
