MUMBAI: Sharib Hashmi is a well-regarded Indian actor known for his compelling and versatile performances across films and digital series.

The recently launched third season of Raj & DK’s hugely popular spy thriller, The Family Man, delivered on one of the most anticipated moments in the Indian digital space: the crossover with their other hit series, Farzi.

This union saw Southern star Vijay Sethupathi, who portrays Michael Vedanayagam, make a striking cameo appearance.

Sharib Hashmi, who has been integral to the series since its inception as Srikant’s colleague and best friend, J.K. Talpade, recently shared his experience of shooting the significant crossover sequence.

The scene sees J.K. and Srikant Tiwari enlist the help of Michael, a Special Task Force officer from Farzi, to navigate a precarious situation in the North-East, essential to the plot against the new adversaries.

Sharib expressed his delight at the collaborative sequence, noting that the shared energy on set felt special.

"The whole idea of the Raj & DK spy universe connecting on screen was already huge for the fans," he stated.

"But to actually be in the middle of that moment, sharing a sequence with an actor of Vijay Sethupathi’s calibre, it was a huge thrill to see the spy universe connect right there."

He acknowledged that Sethupathi’s cameo, although brief, was a crucial highlight of the season.

The actor commended the creators, Raj & DK, for their meticulous planning in bringing characters from two different, successful shows into a cohesive narrative, praising the natural and witty dialogue exchanged between the seasoned actors.

Sharib also touched upon the relentless nature of the new season, reiterating that the stakes were higher and the action more intense than ever, validating the long wait for loyal viewers.

His commitment to the role of J.K. Talpade continues to be a cornerstone of the series’ success, grounding the high-stakes espionage with relatable humour and emotion.
