MUMBAI: Jaideep Ahlawat is excited about his second web series Pataal Lok. While he cannot wait for the release of the show, in which he is playing the lead role for the first time, he is enjoying his time at home in lockdown.
Just like the rest of us, Jaideep is spending time in lockdown by reading books and watching shows and films on OTT platforms. While many celebrities think that people will come out of lockdown as changed human beings, Jaideep differs. He says nothing will change and people will get back to what they had been doing.
Jaideep Ahlawat says, 'I don't think people are going to come out as changed human beings after lockdown. We have a really weak memory. As soon as we are free, we will forget what we went through. The opening of the liquor shops is a recent example of this. We saw how people forgot social distancing as soon as they were allowed to buy liquor. People who are aware don't need a lockdown to realise the severity of the matter. People who are stupid are going to remain stupid.'

The actor also strongly condemns the decision of allowing the opening of liquor shops. He says, 'I didn't understand what was the need to allow the liquor stores to open. People were standing in queues as long as 5 km to buy liquor, keeping social distancing at bay. When the coronavirus-positive cases were 500 in the country, you ordered the shops to shut down, and now when the tally has crossed 50,000 you are opening them. I don't understand the logic.'
Pataal Lok is releasing on Amazon Prime Video On May 15.
