MUMBAI: ALTT’s vertical content platform Kutingg Hotshots recently premiered its gripping psychological thriller Anjaan Dastak on July 18. Starring Shyn Khurana and Karan Sharma in lead roles, the show offered an edge-of-the-seat experience, set against the backdrop of a stormy night. The story followed a reclusive writer and a mysterious stranger claiming to be a wounded cop, as a night filled with secrets, suspense, and shifting truths unfolded.
In an earlier interaction, Shyn Khurana had shared her thoughts on the story, the vertical format, and why thrillers continue to be her favorite genre.
Speaking about the core concept of Anjaan Dastak, Shyn had said, “The central theme is trust and deception. Trust is the foundation of every meaningful relationship. But when someone betrays that trust, it leads to hurt and disappointment. Once broken, trust is never the same, and forgiveness becomes very difficult. Our story explored this emotional turmoil and its consequences.”
Explaining what made Anjaan Dastak stand out from other thrillers, she had shared, “Thrillers are meant to excite and build anticipation, and this show did that brilliantly. It was fast-paced, emotionally intense, and full of unpredictable twists. The audience stayed hooked from start to finish.”
Recounting her experience shooting the show, Shyn said, “It was truly amazing. The vertical format demands storytelling that’s quick and impactful. In a shorter span, we managed to bring out themes like love, suspense, deception—all within a tightly packed narrative. It kept me creatively engaged throughout.”
When asked about her personal love for the genre, Shyn had added, “Absolutely, I love thrillers. They’re filled with suspense, danger, and unexpected turns. That rush of not knowing what comes next—that’s what makes it so exciting, both as an actor and as a viewer.”
