Tandav shot in Saif's Pataudi Palace: Here are some facts about this property

MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan, for the first time, allowed a show to be shot in Pataudi Palace: his upcoming web show Tandav.

It was the palatial abode of Mansoor Ali Khan. He lived in the palace grounds along with his wife Sharmila Tagore and their three kids. After his demise, Saif Ali Khan was titled the Nawab of Pataudi.

Saif's upcoming web show Tandav has been extensively shot on the grounds of the Palace that is worth Rs 800 crore. In a recent interaction, Saif revealed that he usually allows film crews to only shoot in the exterior parts of the palace. "I think it is the palace that lends us the royal look. Anyone standing there would look royal."

Here are some interesting facts about Pataudi Palace.

Although the Pataudis live in Mumbai, they often visit their family home that is spread across 10 acres with 150 rooms.

The palace has been used to shoot films including Julia Roberts' Eat Pray Love, Veer Zaara, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, and Mangal Pandey. 

The late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi worked out a 17-year lease with the owners of Neemrana Hotel group which converted this Palace into a hotel between 2005 - 2014. The actor repurchased the ancestral property with his hard-earned money.
