Chetan Bhagat's Revolution 2020 to be adapted into a Bollywood movie

It’s almost given that anything coming out of Chetan Bhagat’s stables would be made into a Bollywood movie. Hello (One Night @ The Call Center) started the trend which was followed by the blockbuster 3 Idiots (Five Point Someone), Kai Po Che! (The Three Mistakes Of My Life) and the under-production 2 States (based on 2 States). The only one left was Revolution 2020 which has now been picked up by Disney UTV to be made into a movie and the same will be directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. A proud Chetan sounded ecstatic at this news and said, "It is an intense love story set against the backdrop of corruption in the education sector, which affects millions across the country. I can't wait for the three characters to be cast and brought to life." For UTV this would be the second outing with Chetan after Kai Po Che! Talking about the collaboration, UTV honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur said, “We are excited to have played the catalyst in bringing Chetan and Raj Kumar together. Chetan had shared the draft of his book with us even before it was published and we instantly reacted to its cinematic potential. It has an incredibly well-graphed storyline and the issues it deals with are those that today's youth will instantly relate to and identify with." The film is expected to go on floors by mid-2014 and for the moment its scripting and screenplay are being worked upon.
