MUMBAI: Veteran actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving the film industry and millions of admirers in profound mourning.
Following his funeral, a major prayer meet was held on November 27 at Mumbai’s Taj Lands End, where several members of the film fraternity gathered to offer their respects.

On the same day, Hema Malini also conducted a separate, private prayer ceremony at her Mumbai residence.
According to a report, Hema Malini will be hosting an additional prayer meet in New Delhi on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
The event is scheduled to take place from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre on Janpath. She will be joined by her daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, along with their respective spouses, Bharat Takhtani and Vaibhav Vohra.
Several Delhi-based politicians and dignitaries are expected to attend the public gathering.
Ahead of the Delhi event, Hema Malini also conducted a Gita Paath (recitation of the Bhagavad Gita) at her home in Dharmendra’s memory.
The prayer meet coincided with an emotionally significant period for the family, as December 8, 2025, marked what would have been Dharmendra’s 90th birthday.
Meanwhile, Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, marked their father’s 90th birth anniversary with fans at their Mumbai home.
Dharmendra's final on-screen appearance is slated to be in the war drama Ikkis, which is scheduled for release in cinemas on December 25, 2025.
The film, directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan (Andhadhun, Merry Christmas), is a biographical war film based on the true, heroic story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.
