MUMBAI: Ranveer Singh’s musical drama Gully Boy had given due respect to the rappers in Indian cinema. The movie released in 2019, and turned out to be a blockbuster as it paid tribute to rappers like Divine and Naezy, played by Ranveer and Siddhant Chaturvedi respectively. Well, one more rapper had got his due fame because of the film, and it was none other than MC Tod Fod.
On March 20, 2022, the Indian rap society suffered a massive loss after Dharmesh Parmar, renowned by his stage name MC Tod Fod passed away. He was just 24 years old, and his sudden death sent shockwaves across the nation. Gully Boy actors, Ranveer and Siddhant, too, mourned his loss.
After his demise, in an interview with a Hindi daily, MC Tod Fod’s mother talked about her son’s death and shared his medical condition. She mentioned that Dharmesh had his first heart attack four months ago when he was in Ladakh with his friends. However, it was after his second heart attack that the family got to know about his condition.
Talking about how even after the heart surgery Dharmesh wasn’t ready to rest as he was crazy about rapping, his mother said, “He underwent heart surgery as well but he never used to rest. He was crazy about rap and loved music more than his own life. My child is now gone, and I could not do anything to save him.”
