Feisty Priyanka Chopra packs a strong punch in Mary Kom's first look

There is something about Priyanka Chopra, the actress. Be it playing the seductress Sonia Roy in Aitraaz or the nerve wrecked model Meghna Mathur in Fashion or the handicapped but endearing Jhilmil Chatterjee, Priyanka Chopra has always managed to get right into skin of her characters onscreen. And now after having cut out a couple of international music albums, the term versatility sits pretty well on PeeCee. And just when you thought she had nothing else to prove, here comes probably what could be termed as one of the most challenging roles of her career - essaying the celluloid biopic of India's champion female boxer, Mary Kom. The actress tweeted a couple of posters of her new movie, Mary Kom yesterday night. And Boy! she has literally packed a punch in both these posters. The first poster shows her hair tied behind in a single pony as she grimaces for the camera while striking Mary's trademark boxing pose. Dressed in what one would call ganjis, Priyanka's toned biceps and impressively shaped collars attract immediate attention. The heavily bandaged fists, her angry open mouth stance and the fire in her eyes and belly indicate that this boxer is all set to go for your jugular. The second poster looks a shade less impressive as compared to the first one. It's more in the league of Sonakshi Sinha from Holiday though Priyanka looks much more at ease in here. With her hair braided in a school girl pony tail, the open mouth stance looks like a repeat of the earlier poster. Perhaps a much more subtle but serious look would have been slightly refreshing. Nevertheless, we like the scar that she is sporting beneath her right eye. The boxing gloves on her hands sit pretty well. Priyanka's face in this poster carries a close resemblance to the North Eastern appearance of Mary Kom. The gleaming pearly whites while Priyanka lets out her war cry also serve to remind one of the prowling tigress that Mary Kom is when in the boxing ring. Well, if the posters are this trail blazing, we just can't wait to see the movie. With Sanjay Leela Bhansali at the helm of production, one can be assured that the movie will be an opulent affair. As for Priyanka, she has surely hit the bull's eye with the poster. Now it's time for the trailers. It's game on.
