Is Veena Malik the next face of Swayamvar?

This season of the Swayamvar has been a damp squib. The ratings have been at an all-time low. When Rakhi Sawant decided to find her groom on the show’s first season it brought the channel very encouraging ratings. And for that matter so did the next participant Rahul Mahajan. Though he could not manage to match up to the Rakhi season he did reasonable well. But the current season with Ratan Rajput is at its lowest ever in terms of numbers. This therefore may be an indication of the choice of the celeb for the show. The more the controversies tagged to the celeb the better the ratings. Going by this logic the next season of the show may have yet another celeb who has been in the eye of the storm for much too long. If sources are to be believed the next in line for the Swayamvar is Pakistani actress Veena Malik. She seems to have become India’s favourite reality celebrity after Bigg Boss 4 and Bigg Toss. The latest is that the controversial actress may be the next in line to get married on Imagine’s Swayamvar. Considering what she did for Bigg Boss she may be the best bet for the next Swayamvar. A source says, “The channel is not happy with the response they have been getting for Ratan Ka Rishta. In fact they are regretting having taken a non-controversial actress on the show. The TRPs are no match to the ratings of the earlier seasons that featured Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan. “Therefore the channel now wants a contentious face for its next season. Hence they have approached Veena Malik for Swayamvar 4 and if things go well she may be the next one on the show.” Veena Malik remained unavailable for comment.
