Dhanush is the stage name of this actor. His real name is Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raj. Dhanush was born in a very poor family and his father worked as a mill worker before entering the film industry as an assistant director. Dhanush acted for the first time ever at the age of 16 in a movie directed by his father. Dhanush is a great Shiv bhakt and is has named his two sons Yatra (pilgrimage) and Linga (synonymous with Shiv Lingam). Dhanush doesn't believe in idol worship.
