Ram Gopal Varma apologises for his derogatory Ganapti tweet

Ram Gopal Varma
If becoming popular on Ganesh Chathurti was Ram Gopal Varma's intention, he seems to have achieved the same with full distinction. The maverick director who today famously suffers from the 'foot in his mouth' syndrome almost caused a mini blasphemy when he posted a string of deplorable tweets that more or less seemed downright insulting if not more. It all started with Ramu's tweet asking why Ganesha only became God and not his brother. An avalanche of tweets despicable in nature followed. One rogue tweet read, 'If the Lord couldn't save his own head, how could he save others heads?' There seemed to be no stopping Ramu who looked hell bent on creating rampage. Not surprisingly, the tweets caused huge uproar with political parties across the spectrum condemning the tweets and calling for legal action to be implemented against Ramu. Realising his gaffes, Ramu quickly tweeted an apology. 'All tweets put by me on Ganesha were in my usual manner but unintended by me to hurt anyone's sentiments...but if they did I sincerely apologise.' The 52-year old director has become a spent force in Bollywood today courtesy the multiple flops that he delivered over the past few years. His last film Satya 2 bombed at the box-office. May be it's time Ramu chooses a better alternative to remain in news rather than posting insensitive and blasphemous tweets which can only incite public anger.
