Working with Colors and Balaji Telefilms is a deadly combination - Giriraj Kabra

Giriraj Kabra
Actor Giriraj Kabra is back to the TV screens with a bang!! He is presently seen essaying a sophisticated, well-suited and booted character of Arvi in Colors’ Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi (Balaji Telefilms). The guy would have played a prominent role in bringing the riches into the life of the protagonist Ranveer, essayed by Shakti Arora. However, the major plot revolving around how the guy helped in the protagonist’s transformation will open up in the coming week. Talking about his role, Kabra said, “All I can say at the moment is that it is a very important role, that too revolving around the main guy Ranveer. I am shown to be a rich and shrewd businessman. Working with Balaji is always a pleasure, and I am enjoying working with the quality-oriented team. I believe Balaji gives a shade and color into every character, and even more when the story revolves around the person. Also, I grabbed the opportunity of working with Colors. Colors and Balaji Telefilms is a deadly combination.” Elaborating more, Kabra stated, “Arvi is not a negative guy at all. He is a complete positive character, and he will affect the lives of people around him in a positive manner. In simple words, Arvi is a street-smart guy who is a tycoon in the share market sector, and there are many who look upto him. As in every Balaji show, I am basically given the larger than life persona.” Readers would be aware that Giriraj was unceremoniously sacked from duties all of a sudden after essaying the lead of Sahara One’s Piya Ka Ghar for more than two and half years. The reason specified for his ouster was poor acting. When narrated this incident, Giriraj clarified the air, “I had played the lead role in the Sahara show for two and half years, but never got my due. I came to Mumbai to become an actor. However, God was kind enough to give me a lead role in the Sahara show. Now, I wanted to get into the skin of a challenging character. I wanted to get an opportunity wherein I could cash on to my acting skills, and not on money. I wanted a perfect platform to showcase my acting talent. Yes, I have played the lead in a channel which had less viewership. But now, playing a prominent parallel lead in a powerful channel like Colors wherein there is a huge viewership will surely help me grow as an actor. Now that I have got a good role, I am sure I will be recognized.” Talking about the ouster from the Sahara show, the man explained, “Yes, it is true that I was dumped overnight for poor acting, that too after I had done my job for two and half years. But I guess whoever was responsible for this got a tight slap on their faces as the show shut down in just one month after I was thrown out. I am not here to badmouth anyone, but I was extremely close to the show. Whatever they did to me was very unprofessional. Having said this, I see this as a blessing in disguise. If I had not come out of that show, I might not have been still playing that character. That would have only meant that I would not have come out of my comfort zone to try out newer characters. After the Sahara show, I have been approached by popular GECs for many a roles, but I was waiting for the right platform to stage a comeback. And with Balaji, I am always comfortable. So whatever happens is for good.” Giriraj, we wish you all the very best!!
