Eid-a time for Bonding and Brotherhood

Eid-a time for Bonding and Brotherhood
Today is Eid and it’s time to make merry. Popularly called Bakrid, it’s the festival that marks one’s loyalty towards his or her God. Although Muslims around the world celebrate the day, people from other communities also enjoy the festivities. Tellychakkar.com spoke to few non Muslim TV celebs who celebrate the day and spread the spirit of universal brotherhood. Harshad Chopda: Eid is a joyous occasion for the entire family to celebrate together. Nowadays festivals cut across religions thereby spreading cheer in everyone’s lives and it is wonderful to see people celebrating all festivals with equal fervor. I am playing a Muslim in my serial Humsafars and will be celebrating this occasion with everyone on the sets. Pooja Sharma: I have grown up celebrating the festival since I have Muslim family friends. I have actively participated in the festivities. This year I also managed to wish my friends in the industry, Sehban (Azim) and Shafaq (Naaz). Eid is a happy and generous festival. I appreciate the great emphasis on sharing joy on Eid. Kanwar Dhillon: Festivals in India are celebrated by one and all regardless of which religion they belong too. It is a special occasion for everyone to get together and enjoy the joy of brotherhood and love. It is also a time when families get together and relish yummy food. Have a great Eid everyone! Dimple Jhangiani: The world knows I have a Muslim best friend, Adaa (Khan), so it is of course a special time for me. I also went with Adaa to get bakras that the family sacrificed today. This is the time when I have a fixed plan to go to her place and enjoy delicious food. I also get home a tiffin filled with sheer korma which is my favouritre. Suyyash Rai: I feel religion is just in name, because God resides in one’s heart. I feel all of us should come together and celebrate each and every festival for all teaches us the same thing- to spread happiness among all. Also Eid is special as you get to meet your friends and family and have a gala time together. Kanchi Singh: I do not have any Muslim friend in the industry. However, I have a very close friend of mine who is an air-hostess, her name is Gulakshan. This is an important festival in India and I hope people who are celebrating it will do so with full force.
