Kunickaa Sadanand hurts toe; sports unique style in BCL

The much talked about Box Cricket League will soon hit screens of Sony Entertainment Television. Produced by Balaji Telefilms and helmed by Marinating Films, this one of a kind sports reality show will have eight teams comprising of more than 150 celebs coming together to fight it out on the cricket field. Now in one of the matches, Kunickaa Sadanand, one of the players of Pune Anmol Ratn, was seen flaunting a very unique footwear style. She was wearing a show on one foot and the other had a chappal. Tellychakkar.com decided to speak to the beautiful actress to find more about this fashion statement. Laughing at the matter Kunickaa shared, “I had fractured my toe as I was running late for my flight. I was flying from Delhi to Mumbai. I banged my foot on my trolley and even though I was in excruciating pain, it’s sad that nobody from the airport authorities came to help me out. I was crying with pain, but thankfully the flight attendants gave me some medicines. When I reached Mumbai I found that I had a hairline fracture and thus had to bandage my foot. I was so disappointed that I could not play.” Talking further about her ‘shoe wonder’ the actress said, “I so wanted to be with my team and cheer for them that I forgot all about my pain and cheered for them from the dugouts. I could not wear shoes for my foot was bandaged. But then my team had really worked hard to get sponsors and I wanted to be true to them and thus decided on sporting one shoe at least (shoe brand was a sponsor). It was just a way of being in sync with my team.” Kunickaa further cleared that this wasn’t a superstitious beliefs. “The commentators mentioned that I did this for superstition wearing a specific shade of footwear and thus I made it a point to wear different colors for all matches. I believe in hard work and unity and that is what was our strength overall.” And finally talking about BCL, the lady averred, “I think it is a beautiful concept as most TV reality shows are Indian versions of foreign shows, but BCL is a completely original concept. Also the way the show promotes woman into sports and that is a great angle to it.” For the time Kunickaa is recuperating and all heated up for the BCL that will launch from 7 December.
