Suman Gupta to feature in TV version of Swades titled 'Raunakpur'

Talented TV star Suman Gupta (Afsar Bitiya fame) is all set to do a SRK on the small screen with DD Kisan’s edutainment offering Raunakpur. The show is based on SRK’s 2004 starrer Swades and Suman will essay Shah Rukh’s role in the series. As per a reliable source she will essay the role of Sakshi a small village girl who would be settled in the US. But, she will leave the luxuries of life to help her village brethren. When contacted the actress confirmed the same and said, “This character is very different and challenging in comparison to the roles that I’ve essayed earlier on the small screen. I feel extremely proud to be connecting to the farmers of our country through this show.” The artist is also shooting for a cookery show as a host on Care TV. This capsule series is called Quick Cook and Suman will be seen presenting yummy delicacies. “I love cooking hence, I am thoroughly enjoying the shoot,” ends the actress with a beaming smile.
