Every single girl and guy will relate to Main Aur Mr. Riight, says producer Pooja Gujral

producer Pooja Gujral

Pooja Gujral is one young dynamic producer. Having sharpened her filmmaking acumen under John Matthew Mathan and later under Kumar Mangat & Ajay Devgn, Pooja with her decade long experience in the industry is extremely sharp and savvy. When we met her in her office, the producer was busy rattling off instructions to her juniors on the changes that needed to be made in a certain contractual clause. Ask her if she has some legal expertise to oversee these matters, pat comes her reply, " I am superwoman."

For Pooja, it is the subject of Main Aur Mr. Riight that made her say yes to producing it. "I love romcoms. It is entertaining and I prefer my audience getting entertained when they go to theaters. The script was well written and it had a good plot. So when Adeeb (director) approached me, I said yes after going through it since being single, I could relate to this subject myself, " says Pooja.

Pooja infact believes that every single girl and guy would relate to the movie and find instances identifiable with moments in their own lives. While TV heartthrob Barun makes his debut with the movie, Shenaz too will be seen after long in the movie. Says Pooja, " We had auditioned many girls but it was my director who wanted Shenaz. It was his conviction more than anything else that made me sign her for the movie. Of course to get in touch with her was a task since no one knew about her whereabouts. But finally we tracked her down."

Pooja also doesn't like when people slot her movie as small. "No movie as big or small. We have made it as grand and beautiful as possible. We have shot at vineyards where normally shoots don't happen. There has been no compromise with the production values at all."

Main Aur Mr Riight releases this Friday in cinema halls across India.
