Ssharad Malhotraa loves to 'go blank' on a non-working day

Ssharad Malhotraa

Ssharad Malhotraa, who is playing the title role in Maharana Pratap on Sony TV, has done a historical show for the first time and the response has been fabulous.

He daily gets into the costume and the character. He lives more on the set than his home. The reel and real life Ssharad Malhotraa have many similarities.

Both are head strong, ambitious and particular about everything. The winning streak is also common. Ssharad says, "I daily get into the skin of the character. I am living my character on the set. The show has given me lot of applause and the response is overwhelming. Doing a historical is surely a different experience compared to doing a regular daily soap. I end up giving a lot of myself to the character.”

So what does he do on a non-working day? “I get up at 2pm, have my chai in the balcony, read the newspaper and not take phone calls! The beach is right next to my house where I take a stroll and enjoy the sunset or just stare at the sea. It is nice to go blank at times as we TV actors work round- the- clock otherwise. I have my coffee, meet some friends, go for a drive and eat at a good restaurant. And I am a mama's boy... I can be on the phone all day with my mom (smiles).”

If not an actor then Ssharad would be: “I have played cricket seriously and wanted to pursue it as a career, but then acting happened. In real life I am a sensitive person who values relationships and friendship. I live life one day at a time. I believe it’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice.”

Well said, Ssharad!!!
