Sanjay Dutt will now have to spend four extra days in prison after his term comes to an end courtesy the extra days that he spent out of jail. Sanjay during his last furlough had ended up spending extra days out of jail while a decision on extension of his furlough was pending.
The decision was announced by Minister of State for Home, Ram Shinde who also made it clear that a departmental inquiry would be ordered against erring prison officials and action would be taken for the delay in deciding whether Sanjay's furlough extension.
Sanjay’s last furlough ended on 8th January and though he had returned back to jail well in time he was sent back home as the officials were yet to decide on his furlough.
Well, considering the fact that there was no mistake on Sanjay’s end in this procedural and administrative lapse, we wonder why the actor is being penalized for the same.
