Urvashi Dholakia, who's left an impact in viewers minds with almost every role she has essayed on television, appears to have found her soul mate at last. The partner she has reportedly opted for is the young music director Sandeep Chowta.
The grapevine has it that the two met sometime ago and hit it off. But the relationship started developing into a serious one only around three months ago. Chowta was spotted at the technical awards Gala of the Indian Telly Awards on 12 February this year in Mumbai watching Urvashi hosting the event.
"Sandeep has reportedly even met Urvashi's parents and they are comfortable with him. He has also met her twin children. It would be advisable that the press keeps off the two. The relationship is in it's early days and too much of media coverage can prove detrimental. They need the space. They have just begun seing each other," says one of Sandeep's friends.
Sandeep Chowta's meteoric rise to the top of the charts in Bollywood is nothing short of a fairy tale. He's credited with some strikingly different soundtracks for Ram Gopal Varma's blockbusters, Mast and Jungle, including background scores for Musafir, Asoka, Vaastav, Kaun, and Shool. He's also generated mass hysteria with item numbers like, Kambakth Ishq (Pyar Tune Kya Kiya) and Khallas (Company).
The man had a great start in 2003 with Dum and Hollywood-Bollywood. Chowta lost his beautiful beach house in Chennai to the Tsunami in December 2004.
His getting together with Urvashi seems to have come at a great time for this talented artiste, as he explores western genres and expands the reach and feel of Indian music with his recently released single, Mallika, I hate you, which has a line that refers to his lady love!
Around a month ago a daily had reportedly quoted the young and vivacious Dholakia saying that she was seeing a director. But she had later denied it. She was not avaialble for comment.
In fact, they were spotted yesterday together at a multiplex in Mumbai cozily watching a movie.
When contacted Chowta did not deny his relationship with Dholakia. He laughed loudly saying: "No comment."
