Anurag Kashyap is the latest entrant of the infamous foot-in-mouth syndrome club. After going ballistic against Aamir Khan for expressing his dissenting opinion on AIB roast(a show that Anurag thoroughly enjoyed), the director has now trained his guns on Bollywood's highest grossing sex-comedy, Grand Masti.
In a recent interview, Anurag Kashyap stated," I wouldn't watch Grand Masti even if someone pays me 5 crore rupees."
This uncalled for remark made the writer of Grand Masti, Milap Zaveri see red.
Taking to Twitter, Milap blasted Anurag for his hypocrisy. Wrote Milap, "Mr Kashyap Ure lifetime films combined haven’t made as much as #Masti n #GrandMasti so take a hike!”
He further tweeted, " Anurag Kashyap says if someone gives him 5 cr also he won’t see #Masti or #GrandMasti Maybe that’s why most of his films don’t do even 5cr...Jab box office Aapke pichwaade pe “hunterrr” maarega na tab pata chalega ki sex comedy mein #Masti aur #GrandMasti Aapke baap lagte hain!”
Talking exclusively to Tellychakkar.com, an angry Milap said, " My whole problem is with his double standards. When you have made a film like Hunterrr, how can you look down upon the biggest hit in that genre that is Grand Masti. That is my only issue with him."
When asked if he expects an apology from Anurag, Milap said, " I have not heard from him at all till now. I expressed my outrage instinctively when I saw that interview. I don't care whether he apologies to me or not because nothing will change the fact that Grand Masti is the biggest hit of Indian cinema in the sex comedy genre."
Milap who is now directing Mastizaade also had a word of advice for Anurag. "I just hope he realises he should be more careful while talking about films of his colleagues."
Let's see if Anurag will heed to this piece of free advice in the days to come.
