There has been a significant change in time of a few shows as Balaji launched two shows, Baytaab …and Pyar ka bandhan. The long running serial CID now airs reruns daily at 9pm, Bhaskar Bharti has been shifted from 9pm to 8.30 and the worst hit is Ladies Special which has been pulled off air for a few days. This has left the fans of Ladies Special feeling cheated as the show has been unceremoniously shunted out albeit for a few days.

TellyChakkar spoke to a source to find out more on this. Says the source, “Ekta Kapoor has recently launched two shows Bayttaab dil ki tamanna hai and Pyar ka bandhan amidst much fan fare. And the two shows may affect the critically acclaimed Ladies Special. The latter has been pulled off for three days to promote the newly launched shows. Sony currently airs the re-runs of CID for an hour which is followed by Balaji’s soaps. This will help initiate audiences to the new shows after which the affected shows will be brought back to their original timings.”
It is also heard that despite the change the shooting of Ladies Special continues. This has ofcourse riled the actors and the unit of the show. Ladies Special last aired on Monday, 5 October and has been off-air since Tuesday. In fact in order to better its viewership the show has been working at getting new faces on board and Megha Gupta will be seen on the show soon. She plays the role of a doctor.
An actor on the condition of anonymity says, “This is uncalled for. How can you pull off a show for a week just to promote one show? There is a risk of losing your loyal viewers who might never come back even when you bring the show back. Some may even think that the show has concluded. What people fail to understand is that Ladies Special and the two soaps from Balaji belong to different genres and so it is impossible for Ladies Special to affect Bayttaab’s viewership. What they could have done was to promote Ladies Special alongside promoting Balaji soaps, which could have eventually helped the former.”
“We had an interesting track coming up on the show and a week long break will result in viewers losing track thus affecting viewership”, adds another actor.
A source from the channel however terms it merely as a change in the schedule. Says the source, “This is a practical scheduling alteration and a well-planned move. Ladies Special will be back on air at its regular time of 9:30 pm starting Monday next week.”
Ajit Thakur, Business Head Sony Entertainment Television said, “No specific reason.”
Sanjeev Sharma, co-producer Optimystix, however was positive that the show will retain its viewership. He said, “I don’t think it will affect the viewership. The show will come back starting Monday, 12 October and the viewers who will not get quality shows to see will come back to Ladies Special.”
With so much shuffling happening we hope the channel has an ace up their sleeve.
