Sony TV's Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane is a MUST WATCH

Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane

Ram Kapoor’s return to the small screen with Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane has all the makings of becoming yet another blockbuster hit gauging by what the first episode of the serial provided us yesterday.

Devoid of any crass dialogues or innuendos, Dil Ki Baatein..is a clean, family entertainer that professes to tackle an issue never before touched upon either in television- euthanasia.

The first episode which was aired yesterday was simple yet sophisticated. Unlike other serials that tend to make it content and visually heavy by juggling between different timelines, Dil Ki Baatein..occurs in the present. It has a happy family of four including Ram Kapoor, his lovely wife Gurdeep Kohli and two kids, a son and daughter (Mahima Makwana). No time is wasted in establishing the story of the serial. Gurdeep is leading life afresh after having defeated cancer. Only her husband, Ram is aware about her past medical conditions while their young kids are kept in dark about the same.

There are however whispers among the society members about Gurdeep's cancer history. Unfortunately, cancer revisits Gurdeep and blood tests confirm that she is suffering from blood cancer. All hell breaks loose in Ram's life and he tries to piece them together while Gurdeep stays positive preferring to lead life the normal way. 'Jab Tak Zinda Hoon Tab Tak Laash Mat Banao' is her fervent plea to Ram.

Performance wise Ram and Gurdeep being the seasoned actors come up trumps. One can't help but notice the special focus on teen actor, Mahima Makwana. The serial is said to be inspired from Mahesh Bhatt's acclaimed Daddy (Mahesh is also the mentor of the show) and one may not be too surprised to see Mahima reprising Pooja Bhatt's role in the serial.

While one may feel the serial is too tragedy centric, Ram rightly pointed out that tragedy is not the overpowering element. The serial will trace the journey of a man who has hit rock bottom in life and the trials and tribulations he goes to rise up like a Phoenix again.

With more powerful performers like Pankaj Dheer and others set to make an appearance in the forthcoming episodes, we are sure it would be apt to fasten your seat belts every night at prime time and tune into Sony TV to watch Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane.

The show is produced by Guroudev Bhalla and Dhaval Gada.
