Actor Sanjay Gandhi, better known as the original Daddaji of Yeh Rishta Kehlata Hai will soon be stepping into a very interesting character in &TV’s Gangaa (Sphere Origins).
The actor known for his power-packed acting will play the brother-in-law of Niranjan Chaturvedi (Hiten Tejwani). The man will be very orthodox in nature, and will have a grey to negative shade which will open up with the thickening of the plot.
As per a reliable source, “Gandhi’s character will be married to Niranjan’s sister, who would be no more. The man will come to reside in Niranjan’s place, with his teenage daughter. The daughter would long to study and be more enterprising, but the father would have never allowed his daughter to spread her wings.”
When contacted, Sanjay told us, “Yes, I am in talking terms for the show. But nothing is final yet.”
Gandhi will have his majority of scenes with Hiten Tejwani, with whom he has earlier acted in Kutumb and Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi. Gandhi was last seen in Sony TV’s Tum Aise Hi Rehna.
Newbie Pooja Sethi has been roped in to play the guy’s daughter.
