#FamilyDay: TV celebs talk about the

A family is where life begins and love never ends. A family is an integral part of a person’s life and today, on the occasion of International Day of Families, we called up few of our television celebs to know about the rapid decline in the joint family system with more and more people preferring a smaller nuclear family.

This is what they had to say…

Aasiya Kazi

There are still joint families in the north side and I think it is fun to be in a joint family. The family full of cousins and relatives enjoy life to the fullest, and celebrate every small things that come their way. Mumbai’s life is very hectic as people here don’t have time to spend with each other. They are happy in their own world. Nuclear families are like free birds; they can enjoy their privacy.

Angad Hasija

Initially I was a part of a joint family, but because of my work I had to shift to Mumbai. I really miss those fun moments. In Mumbai, it is difficult to live in a joint family, because you need to have a big bungalow and it is not cost-effective. In a joint family we learn discipline, etiquettes and have a sense of responsibility.

Aditya Redij

Joint family is where we laugh, eat and have fun together. I miss being in a joint family and I feel lucky that I have got the taste of joint family. But the next generation will unfortunately not have it.

Giaa Manek

Everyone is different, so are their choices. Nuclear families and joint families have their own pros and cons. I think both depend on a personal choice.

Dheeraj Dhoopar

I can’t say that there are no joint families, but being in a metro city, joint family is rarely seen. I think it’s a personal choice.

Paridhi Sharma

It depends on the situation. We actors also crave to be with our family, but as we have our shooting location in Mumbai, we are forced to be away from them. Being in a joint family, love is shared equally amongst all; but in a nuclear family, a person enjoys its individuality, freedom and privacy.

Happy Family Day!!
