I like to stay fit and wear classy dresses: Sunidhi Chauhan

Sunidhi Chauhan

Singing sensation Sunidhi Chauhan will be seen as a coach on &TV’s The Voice India (Endemol). With her new look and gorgeous figure, she was looking smoking hot at the launch of the show.

In conversation with Tellychakkar.com, she spoke about her stint on the Indian version of the famous American music reality show, the competition in the music industry and more…take a look.

What were you looking for while choosing the contestants for your team?

“I was looking for a voice that came straight from the heart because ultimately, only that connection has an impact, no matter how trained or non-trained you are. It’s the feeling that touches you. I got few voices, which really touched my heart.”

Talking about her plans for Bollywood and acting, she said, “I would love to act as long as the right role is offered to me. Earlier, I was offered a few roles but they were of singers and celebrities, so I refused them because I don’t want to play myself. A diverse and strong character is the kind of role I would accept. I would love to portray a common person with an ordinary character.”

B-town actresses have turned singers, are you feeling threatened by the budding talent? “There is a lot of freedom in the industry and a person can do anything and I am proud of it. Music is not about feeling jealous or fighting. I personally love their voices and wish them all the best.”

What do you have to say about your size zero? “Honestly I have not checked if I am size zero, I just feel that I am fit and healthy. I like to stay fit and love wearing different and classy clothes. One day I decided to go to the gym and eat healthy so I did it. I love samosas and jalebis, they are my weaknesses. But now Sunday is my cheat day and I have everything that I feel like eating.”

From Meri Awaz Suno to The Voice India, the format of music reality shows have changed. What do you have to say about that? “Voting system has evolved and TRPs also matter. But I am a part of this reality show because it’s only about the voice. Also, all four of us judges know each other very well and we have also worked with each other so we have a lot of fun on the sets.”

Which song, sung by you, is your favorite?

“All my songs are my favourites, but I am not satisfied with any of them. As I feel that the day I am satisfied would be the day I would be relaxing at home. So I want to do more and more and improve for the best.  Every song makes me feel like I have changed and I should do it better. Recently, I sang for Piku, which was a refreshing change!”

Way to go, Sunidhi!!!
