The pretty Shivangi Joshi, currently enthralling the audiences as the shy Poonam on &TV’s Begusarai, has managed to captivate viewers with her sweet face and contagious smile. The bubbly girl got chatty with Tellychakkar.com and spoke about her bonding with her co-stars, Shweta Tiwari and more.
What kind of feedback are you getting for your work?
I am exactly opposite to my character. I am bubbly, fun loving, talkative and mastikhor in real life, unlike my onscreen shy girl look. I never thought that people would love my shy role too. I am happy they have appreciated my work and accepted me. The creatives also make me sing on the show, which I hate. Still I sang for two episodes and got a good feedback!
How is your bonding with your two so-stars?
Oh! They are not my co-stars, they are my bodyguards. They protect me and we share a great bond onscreen and offscreen. Sarrtaj (Gill) and I bond very well as most of our scenes are together. We are like Tom and Jerry. He is the Tom who irritates me a lot and I am the poor Jerry. We fight over silly reasons. We enjoy each other’s company as we have a lot of fun together.
Did you feel that the concept of the show would work?
The show has a different backdrop so I thought we would get appreciation for being unique. The ensemble cast with different shades makes the show hatke. We are really working hard so I wish people start liking the show!
What do you have to say about working with Shweta Tiwari?
She is my favourite. She is like my second mother as she is very caring. I am very close to her. She is like a best friend. Shweta di is a practical and positive person. She is my inspiration. Even if I wish to meet her in the middle of the night, she wouldn’t hesitate. I am happy to be sharing screen space with such a beautiful lady.
Share any offscreen fun moment?
On my birthday, Sarrtaj locked me inside the room and told everyone not to open it. I was so pissed and was banging the door but no one came to open it. But finally, Sartaj came and locked me because he had planned a surprise for me! I was so touched, but I still scolded him for locking me inside!
How does your family react to your popularity?
My family is very happy with my popularity. They are my biggest supporters. My mom is my best friend and they both are very proud of me.
Are you dating anyone?
No, we don’t have to time to date anyone (laughs). We are so packed with shooting that there is no time for anything else.
Good luck, Shivangi.
