TV is entirely different industry: Asmita Sood on small screen debut

Actress Asmita Sood, who is making her TV debut with upcoming TV show “Phir Bhi Na Maane… Badtameez Dil”, says she confident about her decision to move to the small screen as there she will be seen “five times in a week rather than in a movie which comes at long intervals of time”. Asmita, who has starred in southern films like “Victory”, “5 Sundarikal” and “Aadu Magaadra Bujji”, will be seen playing the lead role of Meher in “Badtameez Dil”, which will be aired on Star Plus. “The character of Meher is not at all like me in real life. It is one of those challenging characters that will give me the chance to explore different aspects of my work,” Asmita said in a statement. “When I was offered the role, I didn’t think twice before accepting it because I don’t want to do the same things which I do in movies. Television is an entirely different industry. My fans will get to see me five times in a week rather than in a movie which comes at long intervals of time,” she added. Asked whether she has taken a risk by moving to the television industry, Asmita said: “I'm confident about my decision and I know the show will do well and my hard work will pay off.” “Badtameez Dil”, which will start on June 29, will also star Pearl Puri and Suyyash Rai. The show will replace “Nisha Aur Uske Cousins”.
