Ragini on a high

Veteran actress Ragini who was last seen in Mera sasural on Sahara One is back on the small screen after a self imposed sabbatical. Even now her fans remember her for her roles in Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka and Aati Rahegi Baharaein. Ragini is now playing the lead in a daily soap titled Moti Ba. This is Big TV’s first show and is aired on ETV Gujarati from Monday to Friday at 8pm. The actress who has a great body of work to boast about is currently in a very content mood. Talking exclusively to TellyChakkar an elated Ragini says, “I have returned to TV after a gap of one year. I was so fed up doing the same kind of shows that I decided to stay out rather than do such inane stuff.” Continuing she adds, “When I was offered Moti Ba I was keen on doing it as the role is interesting and it’s the first time that Reliance is doing a TV show. I am so tired of the serials that are currently on air that I have refused so many such serials. In fact I have also opted out of shows because they were going no way. Moreover Hindi serials have no structured working system and hence I stay away from them.” Moti Ba is being shot in Ahmedabad and also stars the veteran actor Deepak Gheewala along with some known local actors. For the award winning actress good work continues to come by and she has just received one more such honour. Ragini had played a key role in a children’s film titled Harun Arun which has been given a special jury award at the Chicago International Film Festival. Talking of this she says, “This is such a sensitive story that I think everyone should see the film. The film won the award out of a total of 262 films and each of us who contributed to the film was delighted that our work was appreciated.” The film produced by Vinod Ganatra has been well recieved by international audiences for its powerful content and brilliant acting. With such awards coming in there cannot be a bigger reward for an actor like Ragini. Keep up the good work!
