#IndependenceDay: 5 TV actors who can play freedom fighters

Playing a freedom fighter is a privilege that not many actors can boast of. Apart from the fact that you get to relive the valiant lives of your childhood heroes, you also receive the unconditional love of your audiences. This I-Day, we round up five stars from our TV brigade to tell you which actor can play which freedom fighter on the screen. Take a look:

Ashish Sharma (Bhagat Singh):

With his magnificent mustache and expressive eyes, the actor can definitely do justice to the role of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He can bring out the ferocity of the leader with much ease. Also, it would be amazing to see him sport a pagri, no? We are already excited about this casting. What about you guys?

Krushna Abhishek (Subash Chandra Bose):

One of the most dynamic and mysterious fighters, Bose knew how to get his people to react to give their ‘khoon’ for the nation’s ‘azaadi’. We are pretty sure the Krushna Abhishek can get the same reaction from his fans. It would be nice to see him on the screen once again as we all know what a fine actor he is!

Karan Patel (Chandrashekhar Azad):

The current favourite of viewers, Raman Bhalla aka Karan Patel, can deliver revolutionary Azad’s punch and ideologies with a natural flair. He is also blessed with exceptional acting skills and dialogue delivery. Let’s not forget the fact that he has millions of fans who would love to see him in this vintage avatar. What say, people?

Gurmeet Choudhary (Dr B R Ambedkar):

Dr B R Ambedkar was a fighter who formulated our constitution, apart from fighting off the evils of caste-ism in the country. Gurmeet can work wonders with a little make-up and body language training to ace this once-in-a-lifetime role. Dr Ambedkar influenced many minds with his knowledge and fought for the rights of the society.

Ronit Roy (Mahatma Gandhi):

This list would be incomplete if we don’t include Mahatma Gandhi or Bapu as he is popularly known. He preached the values of non-violence and sought to popularize India-made goods and services. Who better than Ronit to play (and own) this role? His booming voice, brilliant screen presence and unmatched star appeal will draw even the most cynical of his fans.

This, readers, is our list. Do add on to it with your favorites!
