Thakur Anoop Singh makes India proud, bags

Thakur Anoop Singh, the pilot by profession had his dream come true when he pursued his passion for acting, and played the powerful character of Dhritarashtra to elan in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Mahabharat on Star Plus.

Well, the journey for Anoop has been equally refreshing post Mahabharat, as he has gone through a complete transformation by shedding weight. And today, Anoop makes every one of us and his country India proud by winning the Bronze medal at the 49th Asian Body Building and Men’s Fitness and Physique Competition held in Uzbekistan.

Yes, quite an achievement, isn’t it?

Talking about this achievement of his, Anoop got into an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com saying, “I was privileged to get this big opportunity to participate in the Mr. Asia title at the competition. IBBS, run by Vikram Rothe and Chetan Pathare gave me this big platform to go along with the Indian team for the event. I along with one more contestant was the only two to be representing the country in men’s fitness and physique category at the event.”

On the kind of talent to be exhibited at the event, the man averred, “We had to come up with a complete package of posing routine in the 90 seconds allotted to each contestant. The routine basically includes dance, poses, gymnastics, somer sault etc wherein one will have to showcase his flexibility and physique in a very beautiful way.”

When we asked Anoop about his huge transformation post his Mahabharat days, in terms of his look, the actor explained in details about the hard work put in. “Well, for Mahabharat I had to put on a lot of weight. And post that, there was a need to shed that weight, as my ultimate goal was to try for films. This is when my transformation process started where I worked really hard for 6-7 months on my fitness, flexibility, agility and body.”

Adding on, he stated, “It was indeed an amazing feeling to win the bronze at the event and make our country proud. There was a tough competition coming from contestants from 25 best Asian countries. I achieved two goals with this success – I made India proud and sent out a message to one and all that anything is possible to achieve with a set goal in mind. Also, I got noticed at the biggest level possible, and I can today say that I got into the vision of few of the Bollywood greats.”

On his next and immediate goal, Anoop quipped, “I will very soon be honoured by the Indian Government for winning bronze at the Mr. Asia event. The Government has now directly selected me to take part in the Mr. World to be held soon in Bangkok. I will again be representing India in the men’s fitness category. Of course, there will be even more competition with 60-70 athletes from all over the world gathering there. My whole family and even friends will be at Bangkok to cheer for me. I have received a lot of good wishes from my peers in the industry and from my loved ones. My aim is to set an example that all is possible. This time, I want to get back to India after winning the Gold.”

May this day come soon, Anoop!!

With this, Anoop got into the most motivational aspect wherein he disclosed his dietary pattern before entering into a major event. “Well, the first and foremost thing I follow is that I stop drinking water from a day prior to my event. I stop taking salt and sugar when I have 10 days left for the event. I live my life on chicken salad, cucumber and carrots. I also take a huge quantity of egg whites in a day. As my last minute food before the event, I take to carb loading, and consume sweet potato, rice and honey.”

Well, the result of all this is that Thakur Anoop Singh who is duty-bound to the Mr. World event in Bangkok, has already bagged his first movie break. After returning from Bangkok, he will start his work on his debut film to be made in Egypt. Talking on this, he said, “Yes, you will see a new look of Anoop, and I have got my big break in movies. However, I will take some time to disclose about it. My idea will be to do movies down South, and take up mainstream Bollywood movies, and also do good work in Marathi cinema.”

Anoop, Tellychakkar.com wishes you all the luck for your event at Bangkok!!
