Roadies fame Raj Kumar talks about his on stage

Raj Kumar, the Gyaan Guru of Roadies X1 has managed to become the ‘head turner’ in the theatrical arena, after he created history in Indian Theater recently by becoming one of the two men to have smooched live, not once but thrice during a play!!

Yes, we are referring to the packed house English play held recently, Hyacinth a love story based on Greek mythology, directed by Sandip Soparkar, in which Raj played the central character of Hyacinth.

The beautiful love story narrates the tale of Hyacinth a young boy who fell in love with Sun God, Apollo. However, Hyacinth was also coveted by the God of Wind, Zephyr. Much in love, Hyacinth and Apollo once confessed their love and made sex, much to the envy of Zephyr. And that was when Zephyr burning with jealousy, got the discus (played between Apollo and Hyacinth) to go astray, thus resulting in the killing of Hyacinth. Later, filled with regret on the death of Hyacinth, the Wind God Zephyr vowed to spread the Hyacinth flower (created from Hyacinth’s blood and Apollo’s tears) to every part of the world.

This beautiful theatrical play we hear, mesmerized everyone, and the smooch sequence between Raj and Mithun Purandhare (who played Apollo) is set to have left the audience roaring and cheering for more!!

Talking about his huge smooch moment on stage, Raj told Tellychakkar.com, “I love theatre and have always done Hindi plays, mainly mythological roles. When Sandip sir approached me for the role of Hyacinth in this play, I was extremely happy. But then when he explained about the kiss sequence, I was really apprehensive. But he beautifully narrated how important the kiss sequence is in the entire play, as soon after they kiss and complete their sex, Hyacinth gets killed by the Wind God. I then enquired about it from few of my friends, and then decided to give it a shot. The main reason for going ahead was because this is a beautiful Greek love story, and my first English play.”

Narrating further, Raj said, “Mithun and I had really shy moments when we were rehearsing for the kiss scene. We had to rehearse it for few days, after which we nailed it in the performance. In fact, when the kiss was happening, the crowd was cheering, shouting and literally going mad. The scenes where we confess our love with kisses, our sex dance and the ultimate sex scene were really appreciated.”

“As an actor, this appreciation gave me a real high,” ended Raj.

Raj is presently seen playing the role of Ashwathama in DD Kisan’s Draupadi.

Way to go, Raj!!
