The Sagar family priest said these words to end the ceremony marking the fourth day of mourning of the passing away of film and television maker Dr Ramanand Sagar. And a large swathe of industry turned up to pay respects to the man who made a nation desert the streets and stay for almost three to four years with his Ramayan and Shr Krishna. Papaji, as his sons Shubash Sagar, Anand Sagar, Prem Sagar and Moti Sagar called him, passed away earlier this week after being ill for three months.
He was working on the Star Plus series Saibaba before he fell ill. Dr Sagar was the recepient of the Lifetime Contribution Award from the Indian Telly Awards jury last year, a function he attended. Sagar had then said that he was delighted to have received the award.
The chautha ceremony was held at the family's Sagar Villa in the suburb of Juhu Ville Parle and had music composer singing bhajans in Dr Sagar's memory.
May his soul RIP.
