Yash Chopra’s last directorial venture that starred Shah Rukh Khan in a love triangle with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma was a hug box office success. With SRK finally smooching onscreen, the romance drama made several waves at the film circles.
Ra.One:
There’s a reason SRK is the undisputed king of Diwali releases as most of his flicks strike gold at the box office during the festival of lights. Ra.One is no different either. While the Akon-rendered Chammak Challo played at every Diwali party, Kareena’s bright red sari from the song became the must-have of every girl.
Golmaal 3:
Rohit Shetty’s comedy series made big bucks, thanks to the humorous story line and a cool cast. Since Diwali is a happy time to laugh out loud, this comic caper hit the right chords. In fact, its predecessor made good money at Diwali too! Looks like Rohit Shetty knows what it takes to make a festive blockbuster!
Om Shanti Om:
The movie that launched Deepika Padukone’s career also made a huge mark at the box office. Foot-tapping music, lavish sets and SRK-Deepu chemistry, peppered with humour made this movie the talking point of Bollywood. We are glad for this flick as it gave us Deepika Padukone, right?
Son of Sardaar:
Despite going head-to-head against SRK’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Ajay Devgn’s laughter riot made a century at the box office. The ugly spat between the two actors is legendary, which could have been avoided because both movies were lapped up by the janta.
Will this year’s biggest hope Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor, live up to its hype? We sure hope so!
