Treating housewives as celebrities is the USP of Rannaghar: Sudipa Chatterjee

Recently Zee Bangla’s popular cookery show ‘Rannaghar’ completed 10 years.  It is the show where celebrities, chefs as well as viewers churn out mouth-watering dishes. And it is hosted by the talented cook Sudipa Chatterjee.

When Tellychakkar.com asked the secret behind the success of the show, she opined, “I think the fact that this show gives platform to housewives to showcase their talent is a big factor. These are the women who cook everyday without any complaint and without any expectation of recognition. Here, in this show we treat them as celebrities and I think this factor is the USP of the show.”

Reminiscing her favourite moment from the show, she shared, “I still remember a lady who had expressed her sorrow with me. It was about her husband, who was linked with chit fund. He had severed all contact with her and she had no idea if her husband was alive or not.”

“She did not share this incident even with her near ones. She had that belief in me and I consider this as my biggest achievement,” she added.

The talented lady admitted that she loves to eat everything. So when we asked to share her most delicious food experience ever, she shared, “My best food experience is eating black forest cake in black forest.”

Sudipa also had an adventurous experience with food. “It happened during our visit to one of the expensive restaurants in Rome. It is frequented by various Hollywood celebrities like Tom Cruise, Sandra Bullock and more. I expressed my wish to eat Sandra’s favourite dish. I knew it was sea food, but didn’t know what exactly it was. Later, when I came to know that I had gulped down an entire octopus, I felt like puking.”

Woah! That is quite an interesting update, isn't it?
