Rezwan Rabbani Sheikh elated on his 'big win'

Rezwan Rabbani Sheikh

It’s an eureka moment for the dashing actor Rezwan Rabbani Sheikh.

Guess why?

Well, this talented actor has bagged the Best Actor award at a recently held event for portraying the role of Behari in Zee Bangla’s daily Chokherbali.

We buzzed the actor to congratulate him on winning the prestigious award. Accepting our greetings, the actor blushed and said, “Thank you, it’s a great feeling. I was speechless on the stage as I had no clue that I was going to win the award. Getting an award, that too from the CM (Mamata Banerjee) is really a big deal. I was like ‘OMG, did I really win’???”

Talking about the significance of awards, he opined, “I feel awards are important but not the only criteria to judge talent. If we win an award it means our talent is getting recognised. It brings a sense of satisfaction that people are noticing our hard work. However, this does not mean the work of other people, who are not winning awards, are not imperative.”

When asked who is he dedicating this win, he replied, “I dedicate this award to my casting director Sahana Dutta. Enacting this role was quite challenging as the character has been penned by Rabindranath Tagore. Also the film earlier made had the talented actor Tota Roy Chowdhury, who won the best actor award too. I was not confident how I would pull off this challenge, but Sahana convinced me to play Behari.”

He continued, “I also dedicate this award to my mother. She has never accompanied me to any award show, but this time she was with me and I bagged the award. She is truly lucky for me.”

Great going, Rezwan!!!
