I quit Begusarai as my character was not progressing well: Sarrtaj Gill

With &TV’s Begusarai seeing some dramatic changes and show’s heartthrob Sarrtaj Gill aka Priyom Thakur quitting the show, there’s just a lot happening in the desi-flavoured drama…

As Priyom’s fans scramble to find out the reason behind the exit, we caught hold of Sarrtaj to dig out the reason behind his decision…

“I quit the show because I did not like the way the story was progressing. My character was a Casanova and bindass, but it soon became a homely one and that was the moment when the character lost its importance. That was one of the many reasons, which supported my decision of quitting the show. It started becoming boring for me and the audiences too,” he said.

“Gradually, my screen space became less and the show went onto become a ladies’ one. Now the women of Thakur house have taken over the soap. I want to essay something challenging and even if it is not, I at least want to portray a character that people would love to watch. I wish to do negative roles and would love to play a psycho killer,” he added.

Sarrtaj, however takes back with him some memorable experiences to be cherished for life.

“I have made friends for life. Swastik Productions has an awesome team. Shweta Tiwari is an amazing actor and I have learned a lot from her. She has taught me how to hold a girl and be romantic,” stated the actor.

Even though he had a short journey, it was a nice experience. “Every good thing comes to an end. After this, I would do some big projects. I hope my fans love me as much in my future projects as they did in Begusarai,” he signed off.

We wish you all the luck, Sarrtaj!
