Rehaan Roy's tips to remain fit this winter

The talented Rehaan Roy, currently playing the lead on Colors Bangla’s ‘Meera’ (Grassroot Entertainment), is a fitness freak.  So, in a freewheeling chat, Tellychakkar.com caught up with the actor to know his fitness mantra and tips on how to remain healthy this winter. Excerpts:

In one of our earlier interviews, you mentioned that you were a fitness freak. We would like to know how you maintain your fitness.

Fitness is a part of my life. It’s my priority. My fitness mantra is eating healthy and maintaining a good addiction-free lifestyle, and of course working out properly.

What are the rules you follow to remain healthy?

I eat healthy food, lots of vegetables, drink lots of water, avoid junk food, deep fried stuff and workout at least five days a week.

Give us a glimpse of your diet chart…

I follow a high protein and low carb diet. I eat fish, boiled chicken and paneer for protein and dalia and oats for carbs. I avoid eating after 8 at night. Also, I try to avoid production food.

Why should we avoid eating after 8 in the evening?

Basically, when you wake up, the BMR of your body is high and gradually towards the end of the day, the BMR decreases. Thus, your body is not able to burn the calorie that you intake at night as much as it does during the day. So, as a result, you gain more fat. That’s why I prefer an early and light dinner.

When not hitting the gym, how do you maintain your fitness?

When I don’t get the time to go to the gym because of my shooting schedule, I run in my compound ground. I also do free hand exercises at home, especially for my abs.

Could you share few tips with our readers on remaining fit this winter?

Winter is the best time for fitness. One has to wake up early in the morning to hit the gym… but then if there is no pain, there is no gain. So if we aim to remain fit, we have to maintain the discipline. Every day you have to motivate yourself to reach your goal. In winter, you get lots of vegetables so eat them regularly. Also, clean them properly before cooking. Moreover, don’t forget to work out because the fitter you are, the better you’ll look. If you look good, you will feel more confident.

Woaah!!! Nice tips isn’t it?
