TV is a dicey medium where success is as elusive as it can get. Perhaps even more daunting than that is the ‘disappearance’ factor as one-show wonders fade away into oblivion. We take a look at our favourite actors who have now been forgotten…read on:
Cezanne Khan:
Remember Anurag Basu aka Cezanne? Yes, he played the one half of the star-crossed couple that made him a star overnight. His brooding good looks and chemistry with co-star Shweta Tiwari sent the TRPs of the show soaring. Despite so much promise, the actor couldn’t recreate the magic again. Such a pity.
Aamna Sharrif:
She stirred our fantasies and made us fall head over heels in love with Kashish, her onscreen character from the super hit Kahiin Toh Hoga. Her sizzling pairing with Rajeev Khandelwal made for super gloss stories and we almost imagined the two ending up together in real life too. After a few Bollywood projects, the actor chose a happy marriage over TV.
Ragini Khanna:
The pretty lady made us all sit up and take notice, but her charm didn’t last long. Even though she had a promising outlook and aced reality shows like a queen, her stint on TV lasted only for a while. With mama Govinda’s genes in her, she could have made it big.
Saumya Seth:
Another actor from Govinda’s family, Saumya had a promising start on Star Plus. As Navya in the show of the same name, Seth captured the hearts of millions. It’s a pity that the beautiful face couldn’t make it past this show.
Mohit Raina:
There was a time when Raina was worshipped by his fans for his role of Mahadev. Wherever he went, whatever he did, his fans touched his feet and bowed in front of him. Stardom and starry roles were just a matter of time now…unfortunately, that didn’t happen for the good looking star. Once the show wound up, his dreams came crashing as well.
Ankita Lokhande:
Her lissom looks and striking features made Ankita the most sensational actress of the small screen. She found fame, name, praises and her future husband on Pavitra Rishta and everything looked perfect. Regrettably, it didn’t transcend into future projects. Her onscreen and offscreen beau Sushant Singh Rajput may have graduated to Bollywood, but Ankita has not been able to break past her one-hit.
Giaa Manek:
The petite actress carved a name for herself in the fantasy series, Jeanie Aur Juju, which was lapped up by the audiences. Once she left the show, she did take up anything worth writing. We still feel that the pretty actress can bounce back with a plum role. What say?
Samir Soni:
The London-born actor portrayed many a memorable roles, before disappearing from the TV scene completely. Even though Bollywood held quit a bunch of opportunities for him, those didn’t pan out the way he would have liked.
Shoaib Ibrahim:
Sasural Simar Ka might have given rise to countless memes on the net, but it’s the show that turned a Bhopal boy into a star. Shoaib became a household name and things looked rather positive for him in the industry. Even though they didn’t work out, we are sure that there’s something interesting up his alley.
Pooja Sharma:
The former beauty queen tasted success on TV as Draupadi. Even though the show was a hit and her role was appreciated, she failed to live up to expectations in her other projects.
