After Aamir Khan’s unceremonious outing from the Incredible India campaign, news comes in is that Big B, Amitabh Bachchan has replaced the former to be the face of India.
Bollywood actor-producer Aamir was dropped from the campaign on Wednesday evening, confirmed the government. The move is said to have come post Aamir’s controversial ‘intolerance’ comment, which escalated out of proportions and was mostly misinterpreted.
Even though the government has maintained a safe distance from these allegations, this sudden move to replace Aamir with Big B states otherwise.
Media woke up to this startling move after Amit Malviya, who handles the IT, website and social media management cell for the BJP, tweeted, “Aamir Khan removed as brand ambassador of Incredible #India.”
Aamir, a Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri winner, was brought on board the Athithi Devo Bhava campaign in 2008.
