The young talent is the relative of Gopeswar Bandyopadhyay, who was notable for Bishnupur Gharana, which is a form of singing that follows the Dhrupad tradition of Hindustani music. Coming from a modest background, the man despite tough competitors in the final round managed to make a permanent position in the hearts of judges Shantonu Moitra, Shubha Mudgal, Palash Sen and Koushiki Chakraborty.
