Zee Bangla Cinema to feature Orko Sinha's 'Amol er Kebin'

Here comes a piece of good news for all avid cinema viewers.

Readers, the next Zee Bangla Cinema Originals film, ‘Amol er Kebin’, would be a family drama set against the backdrop of arrange marriage.

The film has been helmed by the young director-cum-lyricist Orko Sinha, who earlier made Aamar Aami, a film which was selected for the North Bengal International Film Festival and bagged him the Radio Mirchi Best Upcoming Lyricist award. 

Now coming to the plot, the story will revolve around Amol (Sujan Mukherjee) and Mou (Maitrayee Banerjee), a middle aged couple, and their children Shubho (Anindya Chatterjee) and Anuradha (Turna Das). Amol will run a savouries shop and want his son to look after the shop. Shubho, an engineer by profession though will aspire to movie out of India to pursue MBA. He will also love a girl named Shreya (Manali Dey), whom his father will abhor for her outspoken nature and also because she would be a Manglik.

With the help of Ghatkali.com, Amol will zero in on a groom for his daughter named Gourab (Kamalesh), supposedly a son of a very rich man, Arindam (Joydeep Mukherjee). Before Gourab, his daughter would have been rejected by ten other men. So, at any cost he will want this man to marry his daughter. As luck would have it, the groom party will give a positive nod for the marriage.  

However, just when the preparation will be on full swing, Arindam will cancel the marriage. This will break Amol, as he would have already invested lakhs of rupees.  

Now here begins the real drama....

Subho and Shreya, with the help of Amol’s childhood friend Ratan babu will hatch a plan to double cross Arindam and take revenge. Shreya will turn out to be the central character of this drama.

Whether they will succeed or not in their mission is for the viewers to see.

When quizzed how he conceived this idea for the movie, the director quipped, “The sources of inspiration were the weddings of my friends. I have observed that how various things like horoscope, Manglik Dosha etc., become priority when a wedding takes place.”

“Through this film, I want to convey a message that certain things can be ignored for a bigger cause and that happiness lies in the little things. One can call my film as ‘bhalothakar password’ (password for happiness),” he added with a smile.

Also starring Sourabh Palodhi, Debomoy and Ratan Sarkhel, the film will air on 31st January at 9 pm on Zee Bangla Cinema.
