The tall and sexy beauty Sairity Banerjee, who was the lead in Star Jalsha’s Thik Jano Love Story, is gearing up to play a nagin in Colors Bangla’s upcoming serial Naagleela.
Yes, you heard it right.
We also hear from our sources that the pretty lady, who was earlier seen in a positive role, will be essaying a negative character in the coming fairy tale drama.
When Tellychakkar.com buzzed her to know more about her role in Naagleela, she shared, “Yes, I am playing a negative role. I am enacting the role of a princess who is moody and proud of her beauty.”
“She is a normal human being with dual personalities. Although she is a normal human being, sometimes she transforms into a nagin and that’s the most interesting part of the tale. To know the mystery behind this part, the viewers will have to watch the serial,” she added with a smile.
When quizzed if she scared of playing a negative role so early in her career (this is her second serial), the lady promptly replied, “It was me who actually wanted to play the grey character because I believe such roles provide you more opportunity to experiment with your acting prowess. Unlike positive roles, a negative one has a lot of shades to experiment with.”
Colors' Naagin has become hugely popular among the viewers. So when asked if she was feeling the pressure from the Hindi counterpart, she said, “I am not worried at all. Both the stories are different. The Hindi serial is more practical while the Bengali one is a fairy tale set around 200 years in the past. I feel the audiences would appreciate our work.”
The Bong beauty, who is inspired by Sridevi’s roles as nagin in flicks like Nagina and Nigahen: Nagina Part II, says, “I am very excited about the project.”
