TV actors talk about cruelty towards animals

Animals are our best friends and probably the only creatures that shower us with unconditional love without asking for anything in return. Animals have died because of lack of food, rest and medication.

They have been ill-treated and made to work round the clock. Just like Bollywood celebs, there are many TV stars who are against animal-abuse. In a candid chat with Tellychakkar.com, popular stars shared their views on this pressing issue…take a look:

Aditya Redij: Firstly, people should know that even animals have emotions. Like humans, animals get hurt too.  I have seen dogs being ill-treated, especially, near slum areas. They are kicked and hurt… such things should be strictly banned. There should be a proper law on animal cruelty so that we fear before harming them. While shooting for Bandhan, the makers used to take better care of elephants than the actors. They were given proper food, shelter and adequate sleep.

Debina Bonerjee: I have read many heartless stories on how animals are treated. Few days ago, I read in the newspaper that a dog was thrown out of the balcony. The other heart-wrenching news was of a lady killing a dog’s six puppies, to seek revenge. In a world where there are so many cruel people, there are many angels also. Recently, a girl saved a dog that was severely injured in an accident. She took the dog to a Vet and got it treated. So my point is, please be human to animals and love them.

Ssharad Malhotra: I am a hard core animal-lover and any kind of cruelty against them is a strict ‘no’ for me. I have a dog and a horse and I pamper them a lot. Being a part of the entertainment industry, I have worked with animals often and I have always been extra cautious with them.  A law should definitely be passed for the well-being of animals and anybody breaking the rules should be severely penalized.

Rubina Dilaik: Every being has the right to life. The law of nature governs the rule of life and death…and we have tried to interfere with it. Cruelty arises from a mere thought of fear, so if we all learn to love ourselves and other living beings, we will solve many issues, not just cruelty towards animals.

Pearl V Puri: This is a really serious topic as there are a lot of slaughter houses where animals like cows, buffaloes and others are regularly killed in large numbers and catered to McDonald, KFC and many other food chains. Humans are no less than carnivores. I've heard that there are men slaughter houses too where they kidnap people and cut and sell them piece by piece in the market. Now, men have started eating men! This has happened because non-veg is corrupting our minds…turning us into human beasts. High time we said NO to non-veg.

Resham Tipnis: I have come across a lot of people mistreating animals like some people randomly kick a dog or throw stones at them. There was one such instance where I saw a bunch of boys and girls misbehaving with a cat and a rat. These kids had tied the rat’s tail to the cats’ and had abandoned them. I don't quite understand what was so humorous about the situation! I felt it was immature and inhuman. Just because these animals can't speak, you can't just misuse their weakness .Such people should be punished.

Ravi Dubey: I am sensitive when it comes to animals. I have a pet and I consider it my son. Over the years, I have become an animal-lover. I believe that until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unexplored. Animals are the best thing that humans have. They love you unconditionally. The only thing that they expect is love and care.

Sonal Vengurlekar: Animal-cruelty is rising by the minute. It is common everywhere, even in places where it is prohibited. There are several animals, including pets like cats, dogs, and wild animals that are killed every year. One way of fighting animal-abuse is to report it as soon as it is spotted. There are some states that have Humane Law Enforcement officers who investigate and arrest perpetrators of animal cruelty. If you are a pet owner, make sure that you always show your pets the love and care that they deserve. Always provide food, fresh water, shelter and medical treatment if your pet is sick.

Mahhi Vij: I had witnessed a heartless situation where my neighbor had gifted their kids a pet and when the kids got bored, they left it back on the road. Such things sadden me the most. There are no strict rules or laws for animals.

‘Like’ & ‘Share’ if you are an animal lover and are against cruelty on animals.
