Dolly Bindra clarifies her 'real' intention for sharing the 'crying' recording of Pratyusha's mother

Dolly Bindra
The young actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s untimely death has indeed created a shock wave in the industry. From the time the sad news started to gain momentum last Friday evening, reactions of people in the industry have opened up like wildfire. However, the first heart-wrenching moment for the masses came when a certain voice recording of Pratyusha’s mom, Soma Banerjee wailing her heart out to Dolly Bindra got circulated all over the social media platforms and on news portals. Yes, the sobbing sound of Pratyusha’s mom does remain in our minds even now!!A touching moment indeed... Well, Dolly who always gets into controversies, or can we say, controversies follow Dolly wherever she is, got into a tangle when she received enormous flak for actually recording and circulating the crying tone of Pratyusha’s mother. Framed as being a ‘publicity seeker’ and ‘attention seeker’, many in the industry started to question the lady’s intentions on recording the conversation. We, at Tellychakkar.com, got into a heated yet frank conversation with Dolly who opened up on the entire mayhem created because of her recording. The lady told us to begin with, “The police is investigating on the matter, let them do their duty. What do you want to ask me now?” When we got into the crux of the issue, Dolly shared, “Well, my intention was not to pass on this recording to everyone in social media. Who gave all these people the right to defame me? These are defamatory statements made against me; do they have enough proof that I did all this? I am tired of justifying myself now. Why can’t people concentrate on Pratyusha’s case and stop making juicy gossips about me and my recording? Just because I speak to everybody, it does not mean that they can nail me for everything.” She went on to add, “Well, all began when a certain journalist called me and asked me whether I knew of Pratyusha’s death. I scolded her for saying so, and told her that I will check on it though. At the same time, the news of her death spread and people in my WhatsApp chatroom were talking of how it could be a silly April Fool joke. All this annoyed me and I decided to find out. I tried calling Rahul and Pratyusha’s numbers, but they were off. I fetched Pratyusha’s mom’s number, and I called her. Let me tell you, all my phone talks get recorded as my phone is on record 24*7. I am a social activist, and I have been threatened by many earlier on the Radhe Maa case. You must be knowing it. So even your conversation with me is being recorded now. So when I talked to her mother, I really felt something is wrong hearing to her mother’s sobs. So I just put up the recording in my group saying this is no April Fool joke. My intention was not to share it to the whole world. My intention was to tell my friends in the group that this was no joke. But if I had known that this recording will get leaked, I would have not shared it. For a second, I forgot that I am an artist and can be dragged into controversies. Now, I don’t trust anyone. I fired everyone in my group and ridiculed them for this act. I am a person who helps people by going out of my way. So I decided to go to the hospital and look up.” On the sindoor issue, Dolly stated, “When a person asked me about what I saw, I told them about the sindoor. Now, will all of you stop me for talking what I saw? I am a 45 plus woman, and I am not stupid enough to gain publicity like this. I even heard people like Vikas Gupta commenting on my act. I wanted to question them then and there, but I left it at that.” On her personal equation with Pratyusha, she stated, “I have no equation with her. I just met her in January when a close friend of mine wanted me to help both Rahul and Pratyusha. That was it. I have talked to her on phone few times after that, when she had thanked me for the help and asked me to come home. Now people have a problem in me getting into all this since I did not know her well? Well, can I not do all this for the sake of humanity? I am a Punjabi straight forward woman, and I believe in showering help on people. Whatever it is, we have lost a kid. I have no more words to describe the loss.” Point taken Dolly!! RIP Pratyusha.. #prayforpratyusha
