A messy picture: This is what cops found at the apartment where Pratyusha died

The above picture is horrifying. This is the stench and clutter ridded scene of the Goregaon apartment where Pratyusha Banerjee breathed her last. The snap seems quite symbolic of the messy depressing life she supposedly had been living which led to such a drastic ending. When cops entered the 2bhk rented apartment, they were horrified seeing clothes in disarray, liquor bottles, cigarette butts and half-empty packets of snacks lying all over. However, they could not trace any suicide note, adding more mystery to the case. More details suggest that the cops and the forensic team reconstructed the entire suicide episode. The house had no air conditioner but two ceiling fans in the hall, one of which Pratyusha used to hang herself. A showcase adorned many awards which the talented actress had won (how tragic). Initial reports suggest that Pratyusha might have used a one-seater to reach the ceiling fan. She tied her dupatta to the middle section of the fan and put the other end to her neck. She is believed to have stood at the edge of an available sofa before jumping and hanging herself. This is what Mid-Day reported: “ “Rahul was outside, struggling to enter the flat and asked his neighbour Sunil Mukhiya for help. Mukhiya, a cook, was also present for the crime scene study. He told the cops he had crossed over from his balcony into their apartment and found Pratyusha hanging by her dupatta. The investigators found this was a possible feat. Mukhiya also explained how he opened the door for Rahul and how the dupatta was cut to bring Pratyusha down, after which Rahul tried to administer mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.” Cops are further awaiting Call Detail Records of Pratyusha and Rahul and also Chemical Analysis and Histopathology report, on the basis of which, the final post-mortem report will be prepared by the forensic surgeon. Since Pratyusha’s parents have not filed any official complaint, cops cannot file FIR against Rahul or anyone else.
