It’s quite strange, rather precarious.
Imagine a scenario where the entire world is called for a wedding, and the groom doesn’t turn up.
Embarrassing? Well, it is.
We don’t know if Sidharth Shukla is as important to be alluded as the ‘groom’ in India’s Got Talent - the upcoming reality show on a General Entertainment Channel - but he certainly is an important figure in the scheme of things, given his persona and legions of fans.
However, whispers of doubt spread in the media when Sidharth did not turn up for the pivotal launch event of the show, that was held recently.
Shared an eyewitness: “Though the judges (Karan Johar, Malaika Arora Khan and Kirron Kher) and co host Bharti Singh were present at the conference, many were disappointed with Sidharth’s no show.”
So what’s the reason for the hunky actor’s ‘missing’ act? Apparently, the PR machinery of the channel mentioned -to the inquisitive journos at the launch - of Sidharth being ‘out of town’, (told to us by a source), however, rumour mills are rife that there’s certainly more than meets the eye.
“Out of town? Well, usually these events are planned and dates are locked. And he is one of the anchors and an important member of the cast. His career is on a high specially after winning Khatron Ke Khiladi (aired on the same channel). The entire scenario smells a tad fishy,” said an industry source.
We did reach out to Sidharth to get clarity on the issue, but he chose not to respond.
A buzz to one of the channel spokespersons got us this revert: “All’s well,” and that was about it.
We wish and hope that all’s really well and IGT does wonders this time round.
