I had initially refused to play Ananya in Begusarai: Veebha Anand

Veebha Anand

Bubbly beauty Veebha Anand, who was last seen in popular youth show Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, is currently enchanting audience by her awestruck performance as Ananya in &TV’s Begusarai.

Ironically, the girl was not too keen on taking up the daily.

“When they offered me the show for the first time, I straightway said no, as I wanted to start with a fresh drama. Then Siddharth (Kumar Tewary) Sir called me up for the audition. He convinced me to do the role. He made me understand the character. I decided on taking up this powerful role because it was performance oriented,” said Veebha.

Being earlier part of a youth based drama and now a daily soap Veebha believes in giving variations to her characters. “Well, I never work according to the audience’s point of view. I believe that fans play an important role in our life but I work according to my wishes. I take up shows which are challenging.”

Begusarai has been a popular show, we wondered if Veebha was apprehensive of joining it mid way. She said, “I never take pressure in my life. I have never watched Begusarai earlier. Neither I am watching the soap now because I don’t have the time. After taking up the daily, I felt satisfied with my work so I am continuing. If I will not enjoy my character then I would run away (laughs).”

In the show Begusarai, Veebha will be seen playing a character inspired from Mahabharat’s Draupadi. “When I was working for Mahabharat (Star Plus), I kept wishing that someday I will get to play Draupadi. And seems like my dreams have finally been fulfilled.” expressed the actress.

Talking about her co-stars, she averred, “I feel young in front of my co-stars especially Vishal (Aditya Singh). He is so tall that I feel I am too young infront of him (wink).”

When asked about matching the chemistry with the five male leads, she quipped, “I am yet not informed about being paired opposite five guys but with Vishal its going great as of now.”

The show portrays issues like male dominance and women empowerment so what is your take on such matters? “I am playing the part of a strong girl, who is independent, stands for what is right and fights back. Somewhere or the other this character inspires me in real life. I believe both male and female should be given equal rights and support,” observed Veebha.

What are the areas that you are working on to bring the best out of your performance? She said, “I am too fast while delivering my dialogues so I am working on it. I have to talk slowly so that my words are clearly understood and I must say this is a major issue (laughs).”

You are working with one of the great actresses Shweta Tiwari, so how was your experience of shooting with her, she answered, “Shweta is very sweet. All my co-actors are superb and I love being on the set. They are very caring and one thing I love about the set is that I don’t feel any negative vibes here.”

Lastly, apart from acting, what do you love doing? “I love traveling. I really want to visit Paris,” signed off Veebha.

We wish you great luck, girl!
