Even though she's meant to shadow Gauri and ward off evil at all times, Kali's inner strength shines through. She not only stands for what's right, but also raises a voice against age-old, obsolete beliefs and superstitions.
Breaking-free for a better life
Kali may be poor, but is highly intelligent … she knows what freedom is and wishes to be free of all the shackles that hold her back in life. She looks forward to having a loving husband, a caring family and a warm house. She truly inspires us to think beyond our obstacles. No problem is so big that we can't work our goals around it. If a slave can think of breaking free, we can do anything in life...isn't it?
Positive and joyous
She knows that her life is a mess, but she doesn't let it come in the way of spreading joy and being positive. Her vibrant personality, sweet voice and intelligence make everybody take her seriously. She's not just Gauri's shadow, she's more. Much more. We can definitely take a cue or two from her sunny outlook for life. No?

Kali puts her family above everything else and doesn't shy away from protecting them against all odds. Even though she knows how superstitious her foster-home is, she tries her best to educate them rather than pick a fight with them. She's supportive of Gauri too.
