Sonakshi kicks major ass in Akira trailer

Akira

AR Muragodass is back in Bollywood with yet another power-packed remake, Akira. If the Tamil version had a male protagonist, its Hindi counterpart boasts of Sonakshi Sinha in the lead as the butt-kicking badass.

The premise is interesting, racy, and massy. Just when we thought that Sona was only going to hide behind the heroes while they tackled all the baddies, she’s come up with a role that’s tailor-made for a talented actress like her.

The trailer is equal parts dark, menacing and colourful and peppy, a perfect reflection of Akira’s dual sides. When a series of incidents force Akira to move to Mumbai from Jodhpur, she comes across corrupt officials and vicious schemes.

She is not only forced to save herself from them, but also prove her innocence to her family and friends. The fast-paced rollercoaster of a trailer is sure to keep us hooked this September.

Even though it’s an out and out Sonakshi fare, Anurag Kashyap is quite cool as the corrupt cop, while Konkona Sen is at her usual best as an investigator. Every actor puts in his/her finest to bring out a sizzling thriller. Right from her body language, dress sense to punches, Sonakshi has definitely arrived.

We love the background score as well! It might not be haunting, but it sets the pace for the movie.

Directed AR Murugadoss, the movie stars Sonakshi Sinha as Akira, Mithun Chakraborty, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Sadh, Anurag Kashyap, Raai Laxmi (Cameo appearance), Urmila Mahanta, and Atul Kulkarni. It’s the official Hindi remake of Santha Kumar’ Mouna Guru. The movie is set to hit the theatres on September 2, 2016.
